Soaking up the atmosphere in some of Wellington's many cafe's. Apparently there are more than 300 throughout the city, reputedly more per capita than New York City (I'm not sure how true this fact it).
Maranui Surf Club in Lyall Bay Parade - perfect spot to watch kitesurfers on a windy day (most days).
Midnight Espresso in Cuba Street - open late and strong coffee.
Floriditas in Cuba Street - in my opinion, serve the best cheese scones in town.
