Since my arrival in New Zealand in February 2012 I have been keeping a visual diary
that I took everywhere with me. I have been drawing in it almost everyday, trying to
capture impressions from my journeys around the country, but also from my every day
life in Auckland...I have kept it simple, using only pencil. This is a selection of entries.
Mount Eden Villa
Sandboarding at Lake Waimanu, Bethells Beach
Hostel on Waiheke Island, Oneroa
Auckland seen from the ferry rear
Portland Public House at Kingsland
Cox Bay, Westmere
Sculpture at Auckland Art Gallery / Toi o Tamaki
Airport, Air New Zealand flight to Melbourne

ReplyDeleteKia-ora and willkommen Theresa. You have such a versatile range of subjects you can depict. Especially the people on your own website. Pencil and paper goes a long way around the world.
ReplyDeleteNice one Theresa - a great record of your journey
ReplyDeleteGood stuff Theresa.
ReplyDeleteI specially like the hostel drawing and I guess you are a barefoot sketcher.

DeleteLovely sketches Theresa. When I first arrived in New Zealand 4 years ago I kept a similar visual diary, I found it a great way to get to know my new surroundings. Look forward to seeing more!
