Wind blown dust n dirt

The high pitched noise of diamond grinders and plumes of dust emitted from the Te Kupenga Stone Sculpture Symposium along the New Plymouth foreshore.

24 from different parts of the world were participating.  Liz one of our Taranaki Sketchers is one of them and the main organiser.

It is very hard andesite - the local volcanic rock.  (I can vouch it is hard, having carved a couple of small pieces myself in an earlier life).

It is wonderful to see the shapes evolve over two weeks, and culminate in an auction at the end.
