Here is a couple of sketches made on the same site at the Kaikoura port, this house was so well merged with the surrounding that it caught our attention, the textures and colors of the concrete and the rocks were the same. It was cold rainy day so we just pull over and sketch it inside the car. The top one is from Liliana and the bottom one is mine.
