Hogwarts on the outside

Some time back we drew the inside of Pridham Hall - built 1918 at the end of the Great War. The Harry Potterish hall at New Plymouth Boys' High School where my son spent a portion of his life. Wood paneled walls and rows of photos of cross-legged teams and black and white heads.

The hall was named after the first Headmaster Ernest Pridham who served the lengthy term from 1881 to 1911.

This weekend we got kind permission to draw from the cricket field looking back. A famous painting has been done from this same view but miraculously including the cricket pavilion which is actually well behind me.

We did puzzle over the purpose of the small onion dome.

In the meantime my mum sketched trees and me sketching the hall.
