Classics

We had the kind opportunity to sketch a private collection of cars - I was attracted to this 1951 Chevrolet Corvette with shiny teeth.  (I believe this set of teeth didn't officially go into production till 1953)

Below is a Chrysler Six CM two door roadster - six cylinder engine with cast iron block, 217.8 cu in 80hp. I loved the chrome work around the windscreen and even the spare was a story in itself

It was here Brian relayed that sadly Florian (Afflerbach) the German Car Guy sketcher had recently passed away from being knocked from his classic motorbike.  May our sketches be a small tribute to him.

  1. A nice tribute to Florian, Scott -- and gorgeous sketches in any case!

  4. Thanks Tina, Murray, Mario. Yes sorry to hear about Florian so early in life. I enjoyed watching his sketching collaboration with some techno musicians on urbansketchers http://www.urbansketchers.org/2013/09/urban-sketches-in-music-video-clip.html#more The private collection was great - I never knew we had so many vehicles close to New Plymouth. Mario I see your are doing some neat planes and tractors & you have a Chch group now. Excellent
